When Triumph of the Heart: The Passion of Saint Maximilian Kolbe was released in select theaters across the country in September 2025, audiences were introduced to an extraordinary true story of courage, sacrifice, and hope.
Now, one year later, WDCR is bringing this powerful film to Lincoln Square Theater for its annual Movie Night.
The trailer you’re watching was created for the film’s original theatrical release last September—but on Tuesday, September 15, Decatur will have another opportunity to experience this remarkable story on the big screen.
Set inside Auschwitz, Triumph of the Heart tells the story of Saint Maximilian Kolbe, the Polish priest who voluntarily stepped forward to take the place of another prisoner condemned to death.
But this story reaches far beyond one man or one faith.
It is about what happens when courage confronts fear. When compassion survives cruelty. When one person’s willingness to sacrifice reminds others of their own humanity.
