The Historic Lincoln Square Theater is very happy to announce that local native ‘CeCe Frey’ to return to her roots and perform in downtown Decatur, IL. on October 1st, 2026. CeCe is from nearby Mt Zion/Decatur IL. and will be performing one show only with special guest: ‘Emberline’.

Raised in a town of 300 in Southern, IL, CeCe grew up on an ostrich farm watching her father drive a tractor and her mother hand-making everything from Halloween costumes to ostrich egg lamps. She nurtured her early love of music by singing at church, town fairs and festivals, and divebars. Although she was reared in small town America, CeCe is anything but typical.
Her music – self-described as “the place where country’s past meets it’s future” – blends country with a combination of pop, rock, and Americana for an experimental sonic experience that still maintains a timeless, instant-classic kind of feeling. In 2012, CeCe became an international viral sensation, coming in 6th place on The X Factor USA and leaving the show with more social media followers than the winner that season. After the show, she continued to hone her craft not only as a singer and songwriter, but also as an artist. Amidst writing and recording, she learned to direct her own music videos and make her own cloths – a testament to the “do it yourself ” attitude she inherited from her parents.
It was this ingenuity that landed her unexpected success in the fashion world- becoming a concept artist for hit network TV shows and celebrity tours, all without having any formal training in the field.
A true artist in every sense of the word, CeCe combines all the values she learned in her cherished rural upbringing with the wisdom and skills she’s gained navigating Hollywood. In 2026, she is revving up to bring forth the next phase of her artistry – high art meets country roads.
Emberline is a high-energy modern country band based in Mattoon, IL. Formed by former members of the well-known regional act Jane Doe, Emberline delivers a powerful, crowd-pleasing show featuring today’s biggest country hits. From heart-pounding anthems to singalong favorites, Emberline brings polished musicianship, strong vocals, and a professional stage presence to every performance.
